Astrology of Election 2008 - Rock My
World!

The Dixville Notch 2008
Election Chart
Want to post the Dixville Notch
Chart up here again, as the closing observations here will be mostly
concerned with the aspects as they unfold in time through the focus of
this cosmic snapshot.
The art of astrology is always about timing. The modern approach to
astrology which began in earnest in the 1970s with Steven Arroyo, Jeff
Green, Steven Forrest, Liz Greene, and others - has its basis in the
teachings of Carl Jung and his focus on cultural archetypes, group
consciousness and synchronicity. "Things born of a moment, have the
qualities of that moment" - a unique signature in the cosmos. The
astrology chart then, is a map of consciousness and energy patterns unique
to a moment of 'birth', or a particular moment in time.
There is no agreed upon method for casting a 'chart' for election day.
Many astrologers simply cast a chart for Noon, Washington DC - the seat of
government - for a national election. While much useful information can be
gleaned from a Washington DC chart on election day, the choosing of the
Noon time is quite arbitrary and bears little relationship to the Jungian
archetype.
Dixville Notch, New Hampshire is the first place in the nation where
actual voting begins, and I feel reflects the 'unique cosmic signature' of
the election. Elections are always about 'the People', and this is the
peoples' election and historic moment in time.
Exciting, yes!? To me this chart represents a beautiful pattern of
energies, as beautiful as Liberty itself!

Concluding Comments...
The concluding comments here will
be a sort of a ramble along the lines of the intuitive flashes and
insights I experienced as the Dixville Notch chart first unfolded before
me.
The Dixville Notch chart of the 2000 Election (first time I used this
charting method) - showed only too clearly, the confusing, deceitful and
botched 'election of 2000' - and our 'break' with our 'timeline'.
Little did I realize as I cast that chart that such energies were amassing
against our Republic, and of such strength as to actually 'warp' us all
into a new dimensional 'timeline' - a parallel world, a new forced
placement on the grid of possible futures.
While I observed the face of Dan Rather on CBS News in the darkness of
that unfolding night - and the look of incredulity on his face as he was
listening to whatever was being said through his earphones - when he
placed up the portrait of GW Bush, calling the election for him - I 'felt'
an actual and psychic 'shift' in the reality of our time line that
staggered me. We had entered a parallel world. The shock n'awe of the
ensuing nearly eight years have reinforced this 'reality'. I have
not been alone in this 'feeling', this certainty of having been shifted to
a parallel world.
It was with this sort of caution, a mixture of dread and of hope, that I
peeked at the Dixville Notch chart for this election...
A new status quo? An old
revolution?
A first impression of the Election
Chart, is the blazing energy signature of the Saturn/Uranus opposition
wheeling across the horizon! Saturn energy pulls toward the status quo,
represents structure, institutions, the government. Virgo focuses the
energies of practicality, of purity, the cleanness of form and of
function. Wondering how this Virgoan purity can be seen as the current
expression of a government which has been secretive, convoluted and
chaotic. A 'new' status quo? An Orwellian deception?
And Uranus, a planet of change, flashes of insight, of pushing at the
boundaries of form - in the sign of Pisces whose energy is expressed as
idealism, a yearning for inclusion and faith? Idealism denied leads to
cynicism, fanaticism and extremism - rather than constructive change.
Revolution or self immolation? Nothing is as it seems.
Venus in this chart, bisects this opposition of Saturn/Uranus in a hard
aspect to each, and anchors their tensions in the 4th House, or foundation
of this chart. The Venusian energy which expresses in social interactions,
co-operation and harmony is afflicted here - a reflection of the tensions
of the cultural divide we are experiencing.
The focal point for the release of all this tension - is through the 'open
end' of the T-Square - the 10th House. Everything open and in a public
venue.
This will be an election about 'The People' and their relationship to the
government. Turnout should be massive. The indicator of the 'way through',
Venus - is in inconjunct (150* aspect) to the Mid Heaven of the chart,
indicating 'karmic adjustment' and resolution. The People have a renewed
interest in upholding their civic responsibility, and continue to have the
faith their voices will be heard.
Other indicators of themes and tensions are the placement of two planets
at 29* of the signs they occupy. This placement at the very ends of the
signs indicate 'exhaustion' and 'being at the end of ones rope'. Pluto at
29* Sagittarius (an excess of excesses?), and Mercury at 29* Libra
(frustration with being out of balance and outside the rule of law?).
Mercury will change signs and energy signature during the election, moving
to the intensity of 0*Scorpio - and this is very fascinating, as Mercury
here which was under such affliction in the election of 2000 - returns,
this time in direct motion, to the exact degree it occupied in the
Election of 2000, where it had been stationary retrograde. This aspect,
more than any other, suggested to me this 'shifting back' to the timeline
of the nation's original path.
Now, to the Moon which reveals the pacing and timing of unfolding events.
The Moon in the chart for Dixville Notch is not 'void of course' and will
make the following aspects on its journey on election day. First, a trine
(flowing) aspect to the Mid Heaven at the top of the chart, facilitating
the expression of the will of the people on the public stage. Expect there
to be less 'disenfranchisement' as there will be little tolerance for it
with anticipation of potential problems and remedies in place.
The Moon moves on then, to complete a sextile (helping) aspect with Mars
(action, energy) at 21* Scorpio. This is also an interesting aspect,
as Mars here is in hard aspect (square) Neptune which is stationary
retrograde for two days leading into and after election day. This may be
an indicator of attempts at fraud during the election. There may be some
delays and recounts going on, or voting processes interrupted in some
areas. The passage of the Moon here should shed light on this, and serve
to break this energy up. This should not be a significant factor in this
election.
After the voting ends, the Moon moves on, and by 10:25 PM EST will
conjunct Obama's Jupiter at 00* 52 Aquarius, and then a few hours later,
McCain's natal moon at 3*02 Aquarius. Obama first and McCain runner up?
Whoever comes out on top (and all indicators seem to point to Barack Obama),
this will be a definite turning point, and we should 'get back' to that
grid of possible futures which is our true destiny.
I'll leave you with this from Joe Biden on the campaign trail:
'It's time for us, together, to get back up. You are ready to get up.
Let's get up and take back the country we love".
